With the opening of our new Santa Clara Kaiser Permanente Medical Facility, the need for volunteers has increased. Our Volunteers are compassionate community conscience individuals from 14 years of age and beyond. As volunteers, we provide valuable services to those that require information, wheelchair assistance or just someone to talk to when separated from their families. Volunteers support many areas within our medical center,
here are just a few:

  • Providing information and directions
  • Liaison work for the patients families and the medical staff
  • Wheelchair escorting of patients
  • Blood pressure screening
  • Support of the health sciences library
  • Emergency room non-medical, non-critical support
  • Gift shop operations
  • Entertaining pediatric patients
  • Delivering meals, mail and flowers to patients
  • Participating in hospital events and activities, Red Cross Blood drives- www.beadonor.com and book fares
  • Promoting literacy among young children and participating in the national Reach Out and Read Program- www.reachoutandread.org in cooperation with the Santa Clara Library- www.library.ci.santa-clara.ca.us

If you wish to apply, please download our application form or pick up an application at any Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara information desk.

The KP Santa Clara Volunteer Services group is a non-profit organization. All proceeds from our Gift Shop operations fund an annual Mission College Health Care Scholarship, sponsor the Red Cross Blood Drives, book fairs and various patinet amenities.
