Q. What will happen to the Kiely campus once
it closes in mid-2007?
A. Kaiser Permanente is still determining
what will be done with the Kiely Boulevard location
after the hospital and emergency department vacate the
building in mid-2007. One option may be to sell the
land. Should this occur, once the land is sold the city
will determine how the property should be zoned. (Anyone
with zoning questions should contact the city directly.)
Q. Will your Marina Playa location be closing?
A. Yes. All services that are currently
at Marina Playa medical offices will be relocated by
fall (Sept/Oct) 2005. Please see Departments
at our off-campus locations for more details.
Q. Will Occupational Health Services (Kaiser
On-the-Job) move to your new medical office building?
A. No. The Kaiser Permanente Occupational
Health Services offices will remain at their current
Wolfe Road location in Cupertino.
Q. I understand that the building located on
19000 Homestead Road (at Tantau Road) will be adding
other services, is that true?
A. Currently, our facility located
at 19000 Homestead Road (at Tantau Road) is home to
our Chemical Dependency and Recovery Program (CDRP)
and other administrative offices. In the fall of this
year Adult Psychiatry will relocate to the Tantau Building
from its current location at Marina Playa. Also in the
fall, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry will relocate
to the Tantau Building from its current location at
on Lafayette Street in Santa Clara.
Q. Are there any services that will not be
moving to your new medical office building in June?
A. Yes. The Memory Clinic, Allergy,
Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) and
Integrative Medicine (which includes acupuncture and
chronic pain) will all relocate to, or within, our hospital
building on Kiely Blvd between July and September of
this year.
In addition, the hospital, emergency, orthopedic and
podiatry departments will remain at our current Kiely
Blvd. campus until mid-2007.
Q. What will the parking be like at the new
medical center?
A. The number of parking spaces at
our new facility will be approximately double that of
our current location on Kiely Blvd. Members will be
able to park in surface parking lots or in the garage.
Handicapped parking and drop-off zones are located next
to each lobby.
Q. How will members and visitors get from the
garage to the medical office building?
A. There is a dedicated pedestrian
path linking the parking Garages to the medical office
buildings. The distance between the medical office building
and the parking garages is similar to the distance between
the Kiely Blvd. parking area and our current facility
at Kiely Blvd.
Q. Will you have a shuttle service at your
new campus?
A. There will be a shuttle service
between the new campus and the current Kiely Blvd. campus.
The shuttle will depart approximately every 15 minutes.
Q. What will the hours of operation be at the
new campus?
A. The hours of operation will be similar
to what they are at the current Kiely Blvd. campus.
For hours of operation for a specific department, please
consult “Your Facilities Directory 2005.”
