Our new Santa Clara hospital is now open!
The 327-bed hospital is the final phase of the new Santa Clara Medical Center to open on our 52-acre Homestead Campus, located at 700 Lawrence Expressway at the intersection of Homestead Road in Santa Clara. Our Medical Offices opened in June of 2005.
The integration of inpatient and outpatient services on one campus means that members can come to one location for all their health care needs. The building has been designed to create a facility where physicians and staff have the tools they need to provide the highest quality care and outstanding service in a safe, efficient and healing environment.
- The new campus is a regional specialty center for pediatric patients throughout Northern California. It includes a 26-bed neonatal intensive care unit, an 8-bed pediatric intensive care unit, and a mother/baby unit with 12 labor and delivery rooms and 28 private rooms for postpartum mothers.
- The Emergency Department features 26 emergency treatment rooms and six minor injury rooms. A 14-bed "clinical decision" unit provides space where patients awaiting tests or test results can rest or watch TV while nurses and doctors monitor their condition.
- The spacious nursing units have waiting areas for visitors and family members as well as ample space for patient care teams to work. Each unit has dedicated kitchenettes for food preparation and medication preparation rooms.
- Most (90 per cent) patient rooms are private with designated space for family members and for nursing and physician staff. Room size and design enables most procedures and treatments to take place at the bedside.
The Imaging/Radiology Department and Ambulatory Surgery Unit opened in Spring 2006. The services were the first to open in the first phase of our new hospital building on the Homestead Campus, located at 700 Lawrence Expressway in Santa Clara.
The Imaging/Radiology Department provides services such as x-rays, CT Scans, and ultrasound and opened in February 2006.* The Ambulatory Surgery Unit, which opened in March 2006* performs same- day surgeries such as hernia repair, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hand and foot surgery, arthroscopy and other procedures.
NOTE ON PARKING: Use surface parking
lots C, D or E for the closest parking to the medical
office building. On occasion, surface parking may be filled
to capacity. Should this occur, ample parking is available

New
and Expanded Services
Expanded - Vision Services:
all in one place
All vision services are located on the fourth floor of the
medical office building. This includes patient visits with
an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist, eye testing, purchasing
frames or lenses, as well as eye surgery in our new Eye Surgery
Center. The Eye Surgery Center has nine recovery / preoperative
rooms and two dedicated surgery suites for a range of full
range of eye surgeries.

two dedicated eye surgery suites, located on the fourth floor
of the MOB
Expanded - Oncology Infusion Center
The Oncology Infusion Center on the fourth floor has room
for 30 Oncology patients, compared to our previous capacity
of 14. The new facility includes six private rooms, areas
that accommodate two to three patients, additional restrooms,
more space for family members, and individual TV access for
each patient.
Outpatient Procedure Center
The Outpatient Procedure Center on the second floor allows
us to centralize outpatient procedures that require procedural
sedation. This will help us shorten the wait times for minor
surgical procedures and enable patients to go to one dedicated
area for their outpatient surgery as well as pre- and post-operative
care.

Imaging Center includes services for mammography, pelvic ultrasounds,
and bone densitometry testing. Genetics and family planning
services and the Perinatology Department are also on the third
floor.

For member and staff convenience,
the Women's Clinic, Women's Imaging and the Women's Health
Education are all located in close proximity to one another
on the third floor of the MOB.
